Instrument Name: Microtops II Ozone Monitor- Sunphotometer, ECN # 2624374, is a hand-held multi-band sunphotometer capable of measuring the total ozone column and optionally the water vapor column (also called precipitable water) as well as aerosol optical thickness at 1020nm. Parameters measured: AOD (Aerosol Optical Depth). Data format: .xls, Owner of instrument: NASA. Further Information can be found in the data and documentation links below.
This record describes the upper meteorological data collected with combined dual sensing by Windsond and Anasphere tethersonde on the RV Investigator Voyages from 2016 onwards. Parameters measured: pressure, temperature, relative humidity directly, then derived values for height, dew point, vapour pressure, mixing ratio and potential temperature. This data will also be available at the Australian Ocean Data Network (portal.aodn.org.au) and the World Data Centre for Greenhouse Gases (https://ds.data.jma.go.jp/gmd/wdcgg/). This record describes the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) data collected from the Marine National Facility (MNF) RV Investigator research voyage in2016_v05, titled "The Great Barrier Reef as a significant source of climatically relevant aerosol particles." The voyage took place from Brisbane (QLD) to Brisbane between September 28 and October 24, 2016. Data was collected during in2016_v05 for the duration of the voyage. Data was collected using VMDAS and post-processed using CODAS. See the voyage computing and electronics report for more details regarding data acquisition. Drop keels were both deployed at mid extension, approx. 8.5m below the waterline. Data coverage and quality is generally very good. The voyage was conducted almost entirely in shallow waters around the Great Barrier Reef, therefore the OS75 (a deep water instrument) sometime struggled to get good profiles. The OS150 should be considered the better dataset for most use. Some editing was required. The University of Hawaii’s CODAS software was used for data post-processing. This dataset was processed and then archived within the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere (O&A) Information and Data Centre (IDC) in Hobart.
This record describes the Conductivity-Temperature-Depth (CTD) data collected from the Marine National Facility RV Investigator voyage IN2016_V05, titled: "The Great Barrier Reef as a significant source of climatically relevant aerosol particles." The voyage took place between September 28 and October 24, 2016 departing from Brisbane (QLD) and arriving in Brisbane. Data for 62 deployments were acquired using the Seabird SBE911 CTD 21 and CTD 20, fitted with 24 twelve-litre bottles on the rosette sampler. Seabird-supplied calibration factors were used to compute the pressures and preliminary conductivity values. CSIRO-supplied calibrations were applied to the temperature data. The data were subjected to automated QC to remove spikes and out-of-range values. The final conductivity calibration was based on a single deployment grouping. The final calibration from the primary sensor had a standard deviation (SD) of 0.0014061 PSU, well within our target of ‘better than 0.002 PSU.’ The standard product of 1 dBar-binned averages were produced using data from the primary sensors. The dissolved oxygen data calibration fit had a SD of 0.67142 µM. The agreement between the CTD and bottle data was good. Altimeter, Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) sensor, Colored Dissolved Organic Matter (CDOM) sensor, Fluorometer, Transmissometer, Nephelometer, and Nitrate sensor were also installed on the auxiliary A/D channels of the CTD. The collected data were subsequently processed and archived within the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere (O&A) Information and Data Centre (IDC) in Hobart. Additional information regarding this dataset may be contained in the Voyage Summary and the CTD Data Processing Report.

This record describes the data (CTD, Dissolved Oxygen, Transmissometer, PAR, ECO Triplet, Nitrate, Fluorescence and LOPC) collected using the towed TRIAXUS platform on Investigator voyage IN2016_V05, titled: "The Great Barrier Reef as a significant source of climatically relevant aerosol particles." The voyage took place between September 26 and October 24, 2016 departing from Brisbane (QLD) and arriving in Brisbane. CTD, Dissolved oxygen sensors, Transmissometer, Nephelometer and Cosine Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) sensor were also installed on the auxiliary A/D channels of the CTD. In addition to the auxiliary channels, ECO Triplet, Nitrate, Fluorescence and LOPC were mounted on the Triaxus as attached payloads. The standard data product (1 decibar/10 second binned averaged) was produced using data from the primary sensors to produce an along-track time-series dataset for each CAP deployment. These deployments were grouped into legs, each containing a section of the Triaxus deployment and in each leg, vertical casts were created with interpolated values from the along-track time-series binned dataset with a maximum interpolation distance of 3 casts. These generated the along-track and vertical cast section data products for each Triaxus deployment. The collected data have been processed and archived within the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere (O&A) Information and Data Centre (IDC) in Hobart. Additional information regarding this dataset may be contained in the Voyage Summary and the Data Processing Report.
