  • This record describes scientific split-beam echosounder data collected on the RV Investigator voyage IN2022_V06, titled "Integrated Marine Observing System: monitoring of East Australian Current property transports at 27 degrees South." The voyage took place between July 14 and July 30, 2022 (AEST), departing from Brisbane and returning to Brisbane. The Simrad EK60 split beam echosounders for18kHz and Simrad EK80 split beam echosounders for 38, 70 120, 200 and 333 kHz were used to acquire acoustic backscatter data to a range of 1,500 m, around Brisbane 27 degrees South. • This record describes the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) data collected from the Marine National Facility RV Investigator voyage IN2022_V06, titled: "Integrated Marine Observing System: Monitoring of East Australian Current property transports at 27 degrees South." The voyage took place between July 14 to July 29, 2022 departing from Brisbane (QLD) and returning to Brisbane. The ADCP was run for most of the voyage, though it was turned off when EK80 surveys were being performed to avoid creating interference in the EK80 data. ADCP data were collected using the University of Hawaii Data Acquisition System (UHDAS) and post-processed using the Common Ocean Data Access System (CODAS). Both the RDI Ocean Surveyor 150kHz ADCP and the RDI Ocean Surveyor 75kHz ADCP were run in narrowband mode. Internal triggering was used. The drop keel was at 7 m below the waterline for the duration of the voyage. See the voyage computing and electronics report for more details regarding data acquisition. This dataset was processed (quality-controlled), and then archived by the CSIRO National Collections and Marine Infrastructure (NCMI) Information and Data Centre (IDC).

  • This record describes Hydrology (HYD) data collected from the Marine National Facility (MNF) RV Investigator voyage IN2022_V06, titled "Integrated Marine Observing System: monitoring of East Australian Current property transports at 27 degrees South." The voyage took place between July 14 and July 29, 2022 (AEST), departing from Brisbane and returning to Brisbane. Hydrology samples were collected from Niskin bottles sampled at various depths during Conductivity-Temperature-Depth (CTD) deployments. Parameters analysed were salinity, dissolved oxygen, phosphate, silicate, nitrate plus nitrite and ammonium. This dataset has been processed (quality-controlled), and archived at the CSIRO National Collections and Marine Infrastructure (NCMI) Information and Data Centre (IDC) in Hobart. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the Voyage Report and Data Processing Report.

  • This record describes the Conductivity-Temperature-Depth (CTD) data collected from the Marine National Facility RV Investigator voyage IN2022_V06, titled: "Integrated Marine Observing System: Monitoring of East Australian Current property transports at 27 degrees South." The voyage took place between July 14 to July 29, 2022 departing from Brisbane (QLD) and returning to Brisbane. Data for 22 CTD deployments were acquired using the Sea-Bird SBE911 CTD 24, fitted with 36 twelve-litre bottles on the rosette sampler. Sea-Bird-supplied calibration factors were used to compute the pressures and preliminary conductivity values. CSIRO-supplied calibrations were applied to the temperature data. The data were subjected to automated QC to remove spikes and out-of-range values. Issues with the primary and secondary conductivity sensors were observed in the first 3 casts of the CTD deployment. To resolve these issues, the primary and secondary conductivity sensors were replaced. Subsequently, casts 4-22 were treated as a different deployment group. Casts 5 and 6 were diagnostic casts. The final conductivity calibration was based on a two-deployment groupings. The final calibration from the primary sensor had a standard deviation (SD) of 0.0011575 PSU, and 0.001534 PSU respectively, well within our target of ‘better than 0.002 PSU’. The standard product of 1-decibar binned averages were produced using data from the primary sensors. The dissolved oxygen data calibration fit had a SD of 0.76684μM. The agreement between the CTD and bottle data was good. An Altimeter, PAR, Transmissometer, Fluorometer, and Turbidity sensor were also installed on the auxiliary A/D channels of the CTD. The collected data were subsequently processed (quality-controlled), and archived by the CSIRO National Collections and Marine Infrastructure (NCMI) Information and Data Centre (IDC). Additional information regarding this dataset may be contained in the Voyage Summary and the CTD Data Processing Report.

  • This record describes the data (CTD, Dissolved Oxygen, Transmissometer, PAR, ECO Triplet, Nitrate, Fluorescence and LOPC) collected using the towed TRIAXUS platform on Investigator voyage IN2022_V06, titled: "Integrated Marine Observing System: Monitoring of East Australian Current property transports at 27 degrees South." The voyage took place between July 14 to July 29, 2022 departing from Brisbane (QLD) and returning to Brisbane. 5 Triaxus tows were conducted to study the spatiotemporal variability of water on the shelf near the Stradbroke Island National Reference Station (NRS), characterise shelf boundary exchanges, and sample eddies coming from the waters around Fraser Island. See the IN2022_V06 voyage plan for more details. Pressure, conductivity, temperature, and dissolved oxygen data were gathered from duplicate sensors using a Seabird SBE9plus CTD. Also carried on the Triaxus hull were a cosine Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) sensor, a transmissometer, an ECO Triplet (optical backscatter, CDOM fluorometer and chlorophyll fluorometer) and a Laser Optical Plankton Counter (LOPC). Additional MNF-supplied sensors included a Sea-Bird Scientific SUNA V2 nitrate sensor. The collected data were processed (quality-controlled), and subsequently archived by the CSIRO National Collections and Marine Infrastructure (NCMI) Information and Data Centre (IDC). Additional information regarding this dataset may be contained in the Voyage Summary and the Data Processing Report.
