We have investigated the temporal and spatial nutrient distribution within Marmion Lagoon an urban, shallow and semi-enclosed water body that may be susceptible to anthropogenic nutrient stress. We have completed twelve quasi-monthly surveys investigating spatial variations in nutrient concentration at 30 sampling stations distributed along six east - west transects across the Lagoon.
This record describes the nutrient data collected as part of the 1993-1996 South East Fishery Ecosystem Study undertaken by CSIRO Division of Fisheries. Nutrient samples, including measurements of temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, phosphate, nitrate, silicate and nitrite, were taken from Niskin bottle samples at a range of depths on seven transects across the continental shelf in eastern Bass Strait, south-west Victoria, and south-west NSW waters. Temperature, salinity and density data were collected in July 1993 (cruise SS 05/93), August 1994 (cruise SS 05/94), April 1996 (cruise SS 02/96) and November 1996 (cruise SS 06/96). In addition to the broad-scale, transect-based surveys described above, representatives of 4 separate habitat types (Big Gutter, Gabo Reef, Big Horsehoe and Broken Reef) were sampled more intensively and the data will be analysed along with the broad-scale survey dataset. The processed data are held as part of the CSIRO Marine Research CTD data holdings.

This record describes the nutrient data collected as part of the 1991-1993 Tasmanian Slope Trophodynamics Study undertaken by CSIRO Division of Fisheries. Nutrient samples, including measurements of nitrate (NO3), nitrite (NO2), ammonia (NH4), dissolved organic nitrogen (DON), total dissolved nitrogen (TDN), total nitrogen (TN), total particulate nitrogen (TPN), phosphate (PO4), dissolved organic phosphorus (DOP), total dissolved phosphorus (TDP), total phosphorus (TP) and total particulate phosphorus (TPP), were taken from Niskin bottle samples at a range of depths (surface to 1500 meters) on 4 cruises of FRV "Southern Surveyor" on three 60 km transects across the continental shelf to the south and south-east of Tasmania in July 1991 (cruise SS 02/91), February 1992 (cruise SS 01/92), November 1992 (cruise SS 04/92) and April 1993 (cruise SS 03/93).
This dataset contains the Hydrology (HYD) data collected on Southern Surveyor voyage SS2013_V04. The voyage took place from Fremantle to Broome in the subtropical southeast Indian Ocean between the 4th and 26th July 2013. This dataset has been archived within the CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research Data Centre in Hobart. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the cruise report for this voyage and/or the data processing report. Southern Surveyor on-voyage hydrology data are typically obtained from water samples collected in Niskin bottles at various depths during each CTD cast. Parameters measured normally comprise temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, phosphate, nitrate, silicate, and nitrite. Ammonia was also measured.
Data collection was in a seasonal (HES Surveys)and a weekly/fortnightly (CM Surveys) regime. Water quality and trace metal data were collected during the August/September 1998 Contaminants Survey (HES10A). This record references the hydrology, nutrients and water quality data for the Huon Estuary Study. This includes nitrite, nitrate, total dissolved nitrogen, total nitrogen, phosphate, total dissolved nitrogen, silicate, salinity, dissolved oxygen, ammonia, suspended solid and trace metal data. The final data for these data parameters has been loaded into the project database (and subsequently the oracle database) see Marlin record 'Huon Estuary Study-Database'. However, these final datasets along with any intermediate files have also been written to cdrom as text files for archiving purposes by the Data Centre, Hobart. Methods documentation has also been written to the archive cdrom. The completed Field Sheets for all surveys have been stored by the Data Centre-Hobart.
This dataset contains the Hydrology (HYD) data collected on Southern Surveyor charter voyage ss2013_C02. The voyage took place from Hobart to Hobart in the Great Australian Bight between the 3rd and 22nd of April, 2013. Ammonia was also analysed on this voyage.
This record describes Hydrology (HYD) data collected from the Marine National Facility RV Investigator voyage IN2015_V03 titled Submesoscale processes - billows and eddies - along the productive shelf by the East Australian Current, departing Brisbane on the 3rd June and arriving in Sydney on the 18th June, 2015. Hydrology samples were collected from niskin bottles sampled at various depths during a Conductivity-Temperature-Depth (CTD) deployment. Parameters analysed were salinity, dissolved oxygen, phosphate, silicate, nitrate plus nitrite and ammonia. CTD temperature and CTD salinity are also reported in this dataset. This dataset has been archived within the CSIRO O&A Information and Data Centre (IDC) in Hobart. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the voyage report for this voyage and data processing report. Please see documentation and data links. Please note that quality flags for this dataset were modified on May 27, 2019 (see details in the Lineage section below).
