The CSIRO archive of the Australian Bureau of Meteorology Global Analysis and Prediction (GASP) global gridded analysis datasets for the period from 1998 until present. The Global AnalysiS Prediction model uses spectral numerical analysis techniques to provide 6-hourly (00,06,12,18) variables at 60 levels from the surface to 10 hPa with a resolution of 1 deg (approximately 85 km horizontal resolution). Datasets have been tarred into single monthly archives with the following file following folder convention [ /YYYY/YYYYMM.tar (YY=year, MM=month)], with each monthly file being approximately 6-7 MB totaling 75.9 GB per year. Datasets are in netcdf format and are continuously updated.

  • This record describes the data collected on the RV Investigator Voyage IN2016_V05 Titled: "The Great Barrier Reef as a significant source of climatically relevant aerosol particles." The voyage took place between September 26 and October 24, 2016 departing from Brisbane (QLD) and arriving in Brisbane. Instrument Name: Microtops II Ozone Monitor- Sunphotometer, ECN # 2624374, is a hand-held multi-band sunphotometer capable of measuring the total ozone column and optionally the water vapor column (also called precipitable water) as well as aerosol optical thickness at 1020nm. Parameters measured: AOD (Aerosol Optical Depth). Data format: .xls, Owner of instrument: NASA. Further Information can be found in the data and documentation links below.

The CSIRO archive of the Tas Futures 2008 Regional Climate Model simulation datasets for the years 1961-2100. Created with the CSIRO CCAM (Cubic Conformal Amostpheric Model) RCM (Regional Climate Model) by dynamically downscaling the GFDL CM2.1 (Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory Global Climate Model 2.1) outputs to 60 km resolution (C64 Grid) with the main target area centered over Australasia. These runs have been completed using only bias corrected SST(Sea Surface Temperatures) and Sea Ice (No Atmospheric) forcings. 4X Daily atmospheric variables are available globally at 18 levels with .5º (60km) resolution on a C64 Grid. There are 1680 daily files in netcdf format, totaling approximately 2.47 TB. Regional climate data is also available for CCAM nested in other GCMS as part of this project. This dataset has also been further downscaled to 14km resolution for the Tasmania region.

Created with the CSIRO CCAM (Cubic Conformal Amostpheric Model 805) RCM (Regional Climate Model) by dynamically downscaling the ERA40 reanalysis Climate Model output to 60 km resolution over a target area centered over Australia. 30 years of ERA40 output was used as the host model (nested in ERA40), with greenhouse emissions corresponding to 1971-2000. Daily and Monthly Atmospheric variables are available between Lat:-60N 0N(.5 deg res) & Lon:105E 165E(.5 deg res), at 5 levels (1000, 850, 700, 500, 300 hPa), 60Km resolution(C48 grid) & 18 vertical levels. There are 360 Daily files totalling 173.0 GB, 361 Monthly_mean files totalling 3.79 GB and 360 Raw cubic conformal model output files totaling 128.0 GB with all being in netcdf format. This dataset has been created as part of a model evaluation experiment involving CCAM to examine the dynamic downscaling performance when nested in different Global climate models. Available for internal use and analysis by CSIRO staff on the HPSC cherax.
