RV Investigator Voyage IN2021_V03 ADCP Data
This record describes the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) data collected from the Marine National Facility RV Investigator voyage IN2021_V03, titled: "Integrated Marine Observing System: monitoring of East Australian Current property transports at 27 degrees South (multi-year)." The voyage took place from Hobart (TAS) to Brisbane (QLD) between May 8 and June 3, 2021 (AEST).
Both OS75 and OS150 ADCPs were used for all transects, the ADCPs operated well without issues.
ADCP data were collected using the University of Hawaii Data Acquisition System (UHDAS) and post-processed using the Common Ocean Data Access System (CODAS). Documentation for these systems can be found in (Hummon, 2009-2021).
Both the RDI Ocean Surveyor 150kHz ADCP and the RDI Ocean Surveyor 75kHz ADCP were run in narrowband mode.
Internal triggering was used.
The drop keel (port) was located approximately 6m below the water line, additionally the keel was extended by 2.0m for the entire duration of the voyage, subsequently the transducers were located approximately 8.0m below the water line.
