Rock Dredging Data from RV Investigator voyage IN2024_T01

This dataset provides an inventory of rock dredge samples collected during the Marine National Facility RV Investigator voyage IN2024_T01. It includes sample identifiers, collection metadata (location and water depth), and detailed macroscopic descriptions of recovered materials, along with links to associated photographic records and sample storage information.

Samples are primarily composed of mafic volcanic lithologies (predominantly porphyritic basalts), with additional manganese nodules and minor sediment (e.g., pelagic ooze). Each sample is described using standard geological attributes including colour, grain size, lithology, mineralogy, phenocryst abundance, groundmass texture, vesicularity, and degree of alteration.
