This dataset comprises the current meter data collected from a study of the South Australian Upwelling during January-February 1989. The moorings were deployed at sites to the north-west of the upwelling zone, offshore from Robe, South Australia, as indicators of shelf waves entering the region. There are 2 moorings with 2 current meters represented in this dataset. Parameters typically recorded in current meter data comprise east-west and north-south velocity components, water temperature, pressure, and salinity at a nominal depth for each current meter. The data have been processed and are archived as part of the holdings of the CMR Data Centre in Hobart.
Data collected from 1983 to 1998 using moored current meters deployed at various locations around Australia and in the southern Ocean has been loaded into the the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere Data Warehouse. Individual metadata records contain detailed information about each experiment. Most of these data were collected by the historical CSIRO divisions of Fisheries, Oceanography, Marine Research, Marine and Atmospheric Research and now Oceans and Atmosphere
