This dataset comprises the current meter data collected from the Southern Ocean during September 1997-January 1999, as part of the SAZ (sub-Antarctic Zone) project of the Antarctic Cooperative Research Centre (Antarctic CRC). There are 4 moorings with 10 current meters represented in this dataset. Parameters typically recorded in current meter data comprise east-west and north-south velocity components, water temperature, pressure, and salinity at a nominal depth for each current meter. The data have been processed and are archived as part of the holdings of the CMR Data Centre in Hobart.
This dataset contains the processed Hydrology (HYD) data collected on Southern Surveyor voyage SS 01/95, a part of the JGOFS Southern Ocean Processes study. The voyage took place in the Southern Ocean during 14 January - 2 February 1995. This dataset has been processed and is archived within the CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research Data Centre in Hobart. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the cruise report for this voyage and/or the data processing report (as available). Southern Surveyor on-voyage hydrology data are typically obtained from water samples collected in Niskin bottles at various depths during each CTD cast. Parameters measured normally comprise temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, phosphate, nitrate, silicate, and nitrite.
