Statement

The data was created in ArcGIS Desktop using the following procedure. 1.converted the coast250k polygon feature class into a line feature class; 2.selected Australian main coast lines, tasmania, and several offshore major islands; 3. simplified the selected features using a 30 km tolerance; 4. calculated euclidean distance from it to obtain the ArcInfo grid.
